Carry culture. Carry history. Carry art.
Each handwoven Wayuu mochila bag is more than an accessory — it’s a living expression of heritage, crafted by the indigenous Wayuu community of Colombia’s La Guajira desert.
Using weaving techniques passed down for generations, artisans create every bag by hand with a single cotton thread — a process that takes 3 to 6 weeks of patience, skill, and storytelling. No two bags are ever exactly alike. Every stitch, every color, every pattern is a symbol of identity, tradition, and pride.
Once woven, each mochila undergoes a week-long finishing process, enriched with hand-embroidered textures, beads, and vibrant pigments to bring the original design to life. The result is a piece filled with meaning — a wearable work of art that honors heritage and supports the Wayuu people.
Perfectly sized for everyday essentials, it features:
✔ Dimensions: 8" x 10"
✔ Strap drop: 24"
✔ Strap width: 1.8"
✔ Material: 100% cotton thread + seed beads
✔ Authentic handmade construction
Whether you take it to the beach, the market, or out on the town, your mochila carries the story of the sun, sand, and wind — and the artists who keep their culture alive.
Wear beauty with purpose. Support tradition with every step.
⚠️ Disclaimer
Each mochila is individually handmade, and variations in color, pattern, stitching, and dimensions are natural and should be expected. These characteristics reflect the artisan’s craftsmanship rather than defects. Due to handwoven cotton construction, size, shape, and weight capacity may vary slightly and should not be subjected to heavy load use. Dye colors may fade gently over time with wear or exposure to sun, water, and washing. Spot cleaning is recommended. By purchasing, you support artisan communities and acknowledge the uniqueness of handcrafted products.
